Description

Gen,

"error 17" is showed up during grub loading.

GRUB Loading stage 1.5. GRUB loading, please wait... error 17

Anyone have an idea what is happening?

Need more information. What version of pyramid? Did you install from DD or tarball? How was grub installed?

I just installed a CF on a USB on a linux box and did as following,

gunzip pyramid-1.0b1.img.gz

dd if=pyramid-1.0b1.img of=/dev/sda1 bs=512

after that i moved CF to an IDE adapter (another PC) set as master IDE 0 and booted. i am assuming Grub was in the pyramid image and o got that,

GRUB Loading stage 1.5. GRUB loading, please wait... error 17

Please a appreciate your help to solve this issue.

Change the dd line and the GRUB error will disappear:

dd if=pyramid-1.0b1.img of=/dev/sda bs=512

(/dev/sda ... NOT /dev/sda1)
